What a good tutorial on how to make bias binding which can be a lot cheaper than buying it at the store and you can get the color or pattern you want. The bias on the frayed towel is cool and a good way to know that it is yours when everyone has the same color towel and gives it that extra touch. Why not try to make one for the beach or pool.

This is a good way to learn how to do bias binding. However I would not go to this effort to save towels. If they are fraying like that, they are on their way out. But if you want to learn a sewing method and just use the towels for a swimming pool or whatever, go for it.
