So glad I found this project. My friend has a tradition of making teddy bears from old flannel shirts or PJs of a loved one who has passed on. This flannel bow project would be another nice way to honor and remember loved ones, especially on a wreath, package, as a candle centerpiece or on the holiday tree! Using the wire really makes it look so professional!

What a great idea Marillyn to use a loved ones old flannel shirts to make the bow for that special added touch. I have not made one yet but am looking forward to making a wreath and add the bow on. Have you made any yet? I also like the wire idea too.

This is a great way to get just the right ribbon and not have to search for one to make your own and to upcycle those old flannel shirts or find one at a yard sale or thrift store.I would have never figured it would be that easy to sew the wire in the shirt to make the ribbon. Such a great tutorial and such a pretty bow. Can you make the bows out of other fabrics the same way?

I always want to cry when my flannel shirts get holes. Now I can use them to make bows instead of tossing them. No more tears :)
