This is a great idea and so practical too! There are so many times you have an old sweater that has seen too many days and can't really be worn but has some good areas. I could see this for sweat shirts too, because I have some that the sleeves and cuffs are worn out, but the back area is still in pretty good shape, so those would work well for this, project. Also a good way to get rid of fabric scraps if you want to use patches of fabric instead of embroidery .... Fun idea!

What a great way to re-purpose a sweater! The ribs on a cable knit sweater look just like the ribs on a pumpkin.

This is a super easy to make decoration using a thrifted or no longer in use sweater, an embroidery hoop and some simple stem outline stitches. A red or green sweater would be a nice background for holiday times, or a red/white/blue one for a patriotic theme. Just change the shapes to match the season or event.
