I can see using cheap cotton doilies from the dollar store and crocheting around them but paper? How do you wash them? That would not work for me. Like many people I am allergic to dust so they have to be washed. The paper would not last.

Tricia108 I agree with you. Although they are pretty if you can not wash them that would be hard and you have all that crochet in them for the placemats to be ruined. I would cry. It is a good idea if you do not plan on washing them.
