I always felt since I am 5"4', unless I wear heels, I could not wear wide leg pants. What types of material are the best to use so you will not feel "bulky" in wearing them?

I was always 5'2" and as I have become older I have SHRUNK ! I find that the most effective way of wearing wide trousers, skirts etc is to make sure that the top garment is quite short. i.e. not much past the waist. This helps to balance the appearance and lengthen the view of the trousers. P.S. I am now 5'0" and still wear wide trousers and cullotte skirts.

Is it just me or do you also look and feel absolutely gigantic in wide pants? Anyway a friend has asked me to make these for her - and let me say here that I almost hate her because she looks slim and stunning in wide pants, lol. She's bought a beautiful silky fabric so here's hoping I don't mess it up!
