Wow, this is a fabulous bag and I already have the perfect fabric for it! Mine is a black and white stripe, much like the blue and white in the pattern, plus I have decided to line it and will be using a black and white zebra print for the inner. All that aside, the pattern is quite easy to follow and, personally, I would not have rated it Intermediate so do not be daunted. The bag is gorgeous and you will be thrilled with the finished item!

The bag is quite large (20x6x16 deep) and good for the beach. I modified the design to use a shoulder strap instead if handles since I hate lugging big bags by the handles. Possibly because of this change the bag really needs a good closure at the top. A strap with a button would do, but I'm in the process of adding flaps and a zipper closure. I'd also add zippers to the pockets if I made this bag again.

Sure wish for us "not the greatest" sewers the layout on the fabric was given. PLUS, no real notes about the handles, just cut it out. What size? How wide? Do you double, sew and turn right side out? Said she used rope, but where is the picture and the directions for the rope handles. I know it is obvious for experienced folks, but geeeeeee.

I am almost done sewing this bag. I wish I had stabilized it and put a lining in. I still have to do the handles . Is there a way to do it now. I thought I bought a canvas material but that does not keep it up. Linda

I think this bag will hold all my tote needs. BUT I will slip a piece of Masonite board in the bottom (hidden of course) for strength and stability.
