I have made similar headbands and just measured my head or the head of the intended recipient before sewing it. If you use stretchy fabrics, then take that into account and make it just a tad bit smaller. You can experiment with the fabric and pin it several times until you like the fit. Fun idea!

I was wondering if you had to make this headband in different sizes for people with smaller heads. I have a small headsize at just over 7 inches circumference and needed a special mortarboard when I graduated high school. Do you have sizes for smaller heads? Great inspiration for more headbands too.
