I remember being taken to visit an aunt in the 80's and she had burlap (called 'hessian' here in South Africa) curtains that I thought it were terribly hip. 30 years later I still like burlap curtains and our teenage son actually has them in his room (at his own request) and we have some burlap table runners and cushions that I have made.
