Oh my goodness this is such a pretty pillow and have always seen them at the department stores but they are so pricy and now I see the tutorial to make the petal pillow and I am so happy. I would never had imagined that it would be this easy to make and very inexpensive and will make a great housewarming gift too. This will be a great way to add some instant pizazz to your sofa too. Give this a try even a beginner and you will love it when your done.

This Petal Pillow could be good all year round with good color selection. I bought one retail because I thought it was so pretty. Im glad I ran into this pattern tutorial so I could see how to make them myself. Having more than one on the bed or couch would look like a flower bouquet.

I love the brightness of this pillow, and the flower really does grab your attention! Sign up for our free newsletter to see this featured along with other lovely fabric flower patterns.

Awesome Pillow! The only thing I did different was used fabric instead of felt! Thank you for the great tutorial Allison!

explanations were great! thanks. and love the pillow

I was so happy to make one of these and it came out adorable. I decided to take it to my sewing group at a local sewing machine dealer and showed it to the instructor of the class I was taking and of course she loved it. She asked if she could make one, so I assumed she is making it for her home as I did, well come to find out it is in the next session of classes being taught at this shop and she is taking it as her design and charging women to make it. I thought that was a bit rude, and didn't even ask me if I would like to teach this class to the women. I guess I won't be showing any more of the wonderful things I learn on this site. Thanks for the pattern, I really enjoyed it.

What that instructor did was selfish, disrespectful and counterproductive to you and to all who would benefit from what other wonderful things you might have brought in to show! I do not understand people like that and never will.

I have now made three of these pillows and there is no way I can do it in under an hour. It takes me approx. 3 hours to complete. Heck just cutting the circles takes the 30 minutes listed for the entire project. Check out my pillows along with notes on making the pillow in two smaller sizes. http://bit.ly/ge2TEG

    Great project!

This was only my fourth real sewing project. Though I did have a really bad jam in my machine, my pillow turned out fantastic!!! I will be giving it to my social studies teacher because she has breast Cancer. So thank you very much and I would highly reccomend this project and web site to anyone who loves to sew!!! Good Luck!!!
