Sewing bias tape to a V-neck top that is of woven fabric is somewhat easier than sewing the tape to a stretchy knit. Stay-stitching as the instructions indicate does work well to stabilize the neck edge and is an important step to not skip. For stretchy knit fabrics it is important to not deform the V-neck edge when applying the bias tape. Great tutorial.
