Weighted Blanket
"Weighted blankets are great for those who need the extra sensory input or for those who enjoy the pressure from the weight. They can be very expensive to buy but you can make them for much, much less. All you need is a little time and some very basic sewing skills. Seriously, if you can sew in a fairly straight line then you can complete this project by following this super simple step by step tutorial."

My youngest is autistic and loves the feel of heavy blankets. It makes him feel more secure. We have a quilt my great grandmother made almost 100 years ago that is quite heavy, but wearing out. I have been looking for a weighted blanket pattern to replace it with. I do have a concern with this one though. The pellets pose a choking hazard. Extra steps would need to be taken to ensure the pellets cannot escape the pouches.
