Tie-Dye Homemade Hand Warmers

Tie-dyeing doesn't have to be a summer-only project! Learn a new technique with this tutorial for Tie-Dye Homemade Hand Warmers. You'll use a Japanese dyeing method called shibori to create these amazing, heart-shaped DIY hand warmers. They're a cute way to keep your hands extra warm during those frigid winter months. You'll only need some fabric dye, rubber bands, cotton swatches, and uncooked rice, so it's a very simple sewing project. They're so pretty that it wouldn't hurt if you left them laying around the house, either!

I love handmade tie dyed fabrics from which to make sewing projects. I especially like the indigo dye illustrated in this tutorial. So many thoughtful gift ideas can be made from one of a kind fabric. The heart shaped hand warmers are great for stocking stuffers. I can also see wine bottle covers, eReader and tablet covers and a new cover for my sewing machine in the making.
