Quick Sew Kimono Jacket

search

"This is a simple 'snip and sew' project that produces a quick yet stylish result: a kimono-inspired jacket that can be made using one yard (depending on size) of a knit fabric that doesn't fray and therefore doesn't need hemming. Perfect to throw on as a cover-up at the beach or to wear post-workout at the gym, just grab something similar from your closet to give you an idea of sizing and you can be wearing this within an hour!"

This is an interesting quick-to-sew kimono style jacket. The tutorial explains clearly how to cut your chosen fabric, no pattern needed. Even with a non-raveling knit fabric I would still want to edge finish the sleeve, hem, front opening and neckline edge with some sort of finishing, perhaps by serger. This kimono style makes for a quick robe or beach cover-up.
