This is a very lovely project and I especially love the featured plaid holiday fabric! If you have some better fabric remnants, you could adapt this pattern a bit, and use a patchwork technique to use up your fabric scraps and still have a pretty project. Glam it up a bit and use sequins to spell out your holiday word of 'joy' or whatever suits you! Use buttons for a more casual look!
