Clever idea and a great way to use up those fabric scraps for the long strips and ruffles are a great touch and I could see making a similar runner in a thinner width for the top of the fireplace mantle, or even as a side table, buffet or coffee table runner. You could even embellish the ruffles with a crossgrain ribbon running along the hem for some extra flair. Great idea, thanks for sharing your creativity.

This chic ruffled table runner would also make a fashionable bed runner. I consider it a simple item to sew. I like the trim ruffles.
