Potholders wear out quickly and these are truly easy and a super quick replacement. The tutorial is visually pleasing and so easy to follow. Insulbrite (Insul-Bright?) or any heat resistant cotton batting is what keeps the potholder safe to use. Topstitching keeps all the layers from shifting. Great gift idea and excellent scrap savers project.

Easy Peasy is right! I would love to make these for myself and for others, because you really can't have enough pot holders. I have accidently burned a few, spilled stuff on them and some are just plain too thin to work well. Making my own would mean I would always have nice looking and well made pot holders. I also agree that these would be really nice to give as a gift. Hostess gifts, Christmas gifts and shower gifts, these fit the bill.

Wow, these are truly Easy Peasy Potholders to make. But you forgot to mention just how pretty they are too. It seems that the layer of insulating fabric is the key to making very good potholders. That is how we keep from scorching our table tops, and burning our hands. Wouldn't these be nice as bridal shower gifts too?
