Great idea! Does anyone have suggestions on type of fabric rather than wool? Curious about durability.

These hand warmers are lovely to make. Having made oodles, I know that they make great gift ideas, just add a note with the gift of how to warm them in the microwave for a few seconds so that the gift recipient will know. Perfect as a scrap saver project!

This is such a great idea, I had no idea you could microwave rice to make a heating pad. I've heard you can do it with wheat grains. I guess you could make all sorts of different shapes for Christmas - crackers or wreaths. And what about adding some lovely scented herbs or dried flowers to make them smell nice too? Does anyone have photos they can share?

These are so cute and handy for those of us who live in cold climates! I'm thinking of using up some scraps to make these as quick Valentine's Day gifts.
