I have made many tote bags from small to large with and without pockets but I have never attempted to make a duffle bag. I have been looking to make one for may grand kids to carry their clothes when they to their dads on their weekend. This cargo bag is just the right size and it looks very attractive. The pockets got a lot of room to store some smaller things like deoderent, watches, jewelry,etc.... The bag has a lot of room on the inside to pack what you need and the straps look very sturdy. Great bag for traveling or just going to the gym.
