From the Blogger: "The anti-pickpocket bag is made of fabric with twisted handles. This will not only be an attractive addition to your wardrobe, but also super functional if you're traveling or spending time in crowded places.

The twisted fabric handles are relatively unique and very strong. The skill level for this project is advanced. If you have made a bag with lining and pockets, this project is easy for you to accomplish. If you, however, have never done a bag before, you will find this difficult."

What is the trick to finding and downloading the anti pickpocket purse pattern??

Those handles are FA-BU-LOUS!!! I have never seen any quite like that before, wow! Also how clever to specially design a bag to be safe against potential thieves. I am going to make mine a bit longer - probably almost square in shape. I was thinking of using a canvas type fabric but haven't quite decided yet. Anyway I think this is a really good project and a great bag for travelling, thank you!

I have always been able to download projects before now. However, when I try to download the Helsinki bag pattern, I receive requests to add ASK to my computer. Then when I have followed all those instructions, I get to a page that tells me to search for the pattern. I used to get the patterns on the first click on download without all this "allow this," "allow that," and "add this" to your computer and then search. Why can I not just download the pattern?

I am so looking forward to trying this out. I just might try to do the outer shell in leather... just a thought.

The twisted handles on this bag are great! They are comfortable, lightweight, yet strong and not too difficult to make. They would work well on any bag that needs to be strong and durable. Pick pockets are a problem wherever people go. Take care that they can't just take a knife to the bottom of the bag and scoop up the contents as they drop out.

Ironically my husband and I were just discussing using public transportation on our next vacation and I said the biggest threat was a pick-pocket. Today I find your bag. I have sewn quite a bit but never a purse, so I guess I will employ my mother's help and make your bag before our next vacation. Thanks so much!
