"Going off on vacation? You'll probably be carrying a hotel room key card at some point, right? Make this before you leave and keep your key card on a literal leash. (Ribbon is used in this case, but you can make do with fabric scraps if you'd prefer.) A lobster clasp is used to keep the end of the lanyard secure, either clipped to some hardware on your purse or onto itself around a purse strap. This lanyard can also be used by students and seniors to keep IDs and/or bus passes attached to their bags."
