Butterfly Heart Applique Tutorial

"I love subtle Valentine’s day inspired clothing. I appliqued butterflies in the shape of a heart onto a warm sweatshirt. I wanted the wings to have lots of movement so I only partially attached the butterflies.

I use sweatshirt fabric for the sweatshirt and four different kinds of knits for the butterflies. I used jersey, lace, rib knit, and French terry to make the butterflies. I sewed some of them on with my sewing machine and attached some with plastic snaps."
