I made this for myself and it turned out darling! I used an 8 inch hem on the bottom and other than using adult-sized t-shirts everything else was the same as the tutorial. Was more slim-fitting in the hip than on a little girl of course, but it looks great. THANK YOU FOR THIS! What fun.

GREAT IDEA!! How about: buy one T-shirt correct size and second T-shirt in adult or teen size. It would be longer and have some fullness in the skirt. Also, I would, cut off the 1st shirt a few inches past waist, run loose stitching along top of second shirt, join the pieces with a one inch seam; then stitch second row of stitching at this edge and run elastic thru to make the gathered waistline. You can also use the left overs from shirts to make say a fabric flower or rows of ruffles to dress up the project
