What a great blanket to make for that picnic, trip to the pool or beach, sports events or any outing. This is a very quick and easy blanket to make and it has pockets on the ends to put things like lotion, plastic silverware or maybe some lip gloss and it has ties so you can roll it up and keep it from unfolding so it gives you more room in your car or you can put in bicycle basket. This tutorial is simple and you can make some for the rest of your family while you are at it. Why not change out the fabric for something fun or if you want it waterproof why not use some outdoor fabric.

Its always a good idea to have a picnic blanket stashed in the car somewhere. Those impromptu family outings that end up with the family stopping at a park to lunch on KFC, or MacDonalds. And this pattern is about as easy as it gets, creating a very versatile blanket which can include handy little pockets to store those basic necessities - like sun screen, and bug repellent.
