Learning to sew with bias tape is one of those things where it just takes time to really get the hang of it. Sew with a slow machine speed helps. Going around curves is a bit tricky however pre-pressing the bias tape with lots of steam once pinned down will help to shrink the tape somewhat so stitching is easier.
