I worked in a fabric store once, and there was a woman who needed just a bit more length for her daughter's jumper. My co-worker suggested using the scraps to make tabs over the shoulders instead of one continuous piece, of course, then buttons were needed, which I think would add a little interest to the jumper.

Super easy pattern and I love the criss cross detail of the back, the pattern is downloadable so it is great for beginners and really quick to sew up. I could make lots of these in different fabrics for each day of the week and the website it is on has lots of other great patterns such as leggings which would go really well under this dress.
