This is a great upcycle project. The contrasting binding with matching flower brooch is charming. Attaching the binding is somewhat tricky though when sewing since the knit fabric of the cardigan can be somewhat stretchy whereas the fabric binding is not. Binding the cut edges using a knit fabric binding may help as an alternative.
