National Sewing Month 2024

Let's celebrate all things sewing (and quilting) together this month!

National Sewing Month 2024

September marks the arrival of National Sewing Month, and as dedicated sewists, we’ve been eagerly anticipating this moment. It's no secret that we love all things sewing and fabric here, so we've found a full printable pattern (or collection) to keep you inspired every day of the best month of the year! Plus, a few no-sew projects and resources for those who want to participate but have yet to pick up that thread and needle.

We've been hosting this celebration for ten years, and we're still as excited as we were for the first. Throughout the entire month, you will have the opportunity to participate in a handful of sewing giveaways, explore new patterns crafted by our talented contributors, and receive special releases of our newsletter.

National Sewing Month also provides an excellent opportunity to become a part of our community. Subscribe to one of our free newsletters and gain access to our latest and most innovative projects. You can also explore the different options offered by our new magazines, We Like Sewing and WeLikeQuilting!

Don't forget to let us know what you're sewing this month by posting on social media with the hashtag #nationalsewingmonth.

4. Hips & Thighs Don't Lie - NEW!

Designed by Allie Luecke

As Shakira told us, “Hips don’t lie,” and unfortunately, they don’t always fit in off-the-rack clothing either. If you’ve been blessed with some extra junk in the trunk, hips, or thighs, you’re used to the bottom of your shorts, dresses, and long shirts feeling more restrictive than a juice cleanse. It’s time to give that hot bod of yours some breathing room by adding slits to those too-tight clothes. Let Allie show you how in this thorough step-by-step instructional.

We’ll show you how to sew up a cute apron with just those two pieces. And, as you would expect from the best apron patterns, this one has pockets!
