Faux Chenille Mug Mat

"This small project is a great place to try out the faux chenille technique without jumping right into a large blanket. This is perfect for a beginning sewist, as the only stitching is all straight lines. The sunset pattern is flexible, and could be changed to any simple design by cutting the shapes, pinning in place and stitching the lines on top. A slash cutting tool is convenient here, but not required, as scissors could be used instead."
