I have made simple fabric-covered pattern weights before, however this idea to use a rectangular shape is very helpful. Now that I use my pattern weights almost exclusively instead of pinning, I find I cant begin to lay out my patterns on fabric until I have gathered all the weights ahead of time. Pattern weights save time and finger pricks!
