Upcycled Hexagon Patchwork Sweater Blanket
Upcycled Hexagon Patchwork Sweater Blanket

"This gorgeous soft blanket is made from upcycled wool sweaters. The sweaters were first felted by putting them on a hot wash in the washing machine. Felting the wool sweaters means that they can be cut without fraying. I used about five different sweaters which I cut into large hexagon shapes. These hexagons were then sewn together in a lovely patchwork pattern. To add to the upcycled feel of this blanket it was finished off with a denim trim. The waistbands of old jeans were used to create this trim."

I really like this idea! Favorite but tired old sweaters can be upcycled into a warm and cuddlesome blanket and the denim waistband border is another little bit of nostalgia. Of course, in our home, the children would constantly be arguing about whose turn it is to use the blanket so we would have to make at least 4 to keep them all happy.
