OK, the dress IS pretty awful, but so are all of you! If you don't like it, don't make it. Having a opinion is fine, but some of the comments are really unnecessary, and making disparaging remarks about a religion it's obvious you know nothing about is beyond inappropriate. You guys need to learn about tact and good manners, not sewing!

Sadly I too agree, wrong model and collar sleeves too. This could so easily be a pretty dress. Slightly synche in waist, round neck not to low and open fluttery cap sleeves. The have a model who likes what she's wearing

OK, I was feeling badly for thinking it was ugly, but I totally concur with the other comments so far. That dress is just awful. The belt is just not good, either. Calm that collar down! Maybe just a simple opening, or with a slight scoop, but no frills there! The model needs some glasses with thinner frames too. Those take over her face, and are not very attractive.

Look at how awkward the model appears to feel. That's a fashion faux pax for sure.

    Faux Paux.

    Faux pas

Um, no. That dress is horrendous.

That Dress is Godly Looking I mean really what's up with that collar, it looks like a clowns collar ! I'm sorry but really ?

The collar is Elizabethan in style. Why not try different ways of making fashion pieces. You don't know until you try.

Get rid of that wide black belt.taper the dress in the hip area for a better fit remove the collar and lower the neck line.

I agree with the others posts. That dress is ugly. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing this. The collar is absolutely ugly... and the whole dress is absolutely atrocious!!!

I think ; in the what do you think box.. I agree everyone will be staring at you as you walk down the street. It won't be for the reasons you want them to be staring at you though. Lets try something else and get the kind of stares that won't make others point and chuckle or outright fall on the ground laughing. I'm sorry but this is extremely out dated.

Get rid of the collar. Maybe a better picture would help too. Looks like it was made from old curtains. And a different belt too.

Maybe in the Mennonite community, or circa 1984; Suggestions to update, 3/4 length sleeve, no belt, v neck, or maybe make it a short jumper dress..

My dear moxiegirl, You do not know whereof you speak about Mennonites. The Old Mennonites have 1 pattern of dress that everyone in the community wears. I was born into the Mennonite Brethren Church that does not wear plain clothes. My mother was very stylish and wouldn't have been caught dead in this pattern.

    Um, no. Ditch the collar.

Really cute! Love the lace look.
