Even if you dont belong to the Cocktail Set, its a good idea to have a couple of dressy outfits in the wardrobe for when that special occasion crops up. This tutorial would provide valuable experience for a newbie sewist as you are required to draft your own pattern. However there are diagrams to help with this. Just remember - if you are new drafting, when a garment is cut on the fold, you use 1/4 of your measurements. Eg bust = 34/4 = 8.5.
