This tulle skirt from a prom dress is lovely. It looks so much better in a shortened version than the original dress. Love the thrift store update of this pink swirly skirt. Having to manage taking out and resewing a zipper in the back seam might be an interesting task.

I like how you used the band from the dress, but is there something else I can use instead. I want to make a bigger waistband. I want to do something like an inch-wide band all the way around the skirt. For one, it would help girls with a curvier figure, and I think that there would be plenty of room for some rhinestones or other gems to give it a little more pizazz. I love it!

While I have not made this project I can certainly see where it is a super practical idea. My daughter and I went to the local thrift shop and found dozens of vintage prom dresses and I did the alterations to fit, but this idea would have streamlined things a bit... thanks for the inspiration!
