I use to use that way to do my knots on embroidery because that is the way I was taught to do it but have not done embroidery in quite awhile and never thought to use this technique on sewing but it is so clever. I do not like all those tails showing either. The tutorial is so good at showing how this is done with pictures. It does look so much neater.

Having been sewing / embroidering in some capacity over the past 30 years I have never seen this technique so it shows that even the most experienced of us are always learning something new. The instructions are easy to follow with clear photos and having tried it my embroidery looks so much neater at the back than before.
