Add a Removable Base to Grocery Bags
From the Blogger: "Learn how to add a removable, sturdy bottom to the Michelle Patterns grocery bag. The bags are great as is, but the solid bottom adds a new dimension. It’s a really quick and easy addition to the pattern, making the bag easier to pack at the checkout, and giving groceries a greater chance of not falling over in the roomy bags. All you need to add a removable base are some small pieces of fabric, some very stiff interfacing, and a little of your time. As the new base is removable, storing the bags is convenient. Washing is also a breeze."

The fact that this removable shopping bag bottom is reinforced with sturdy interfacing and can be washed makes this a very practical, idea. Most of these are fabric covered cardboard, which can't be washed.alternatively, you could use a piece of thin plexiglass type plastic and make the cover removable, like an envelope slip cover pillowcase, then remove to wash, and wipe down the insert. Super practical idea! Thank you!
