This is very practical. But if you were to,worry about it listing, you actually could sew this out of a leather suede or similar, or even oilcloth and that would wear quite well. In fact, I made a large tote years ago out of oil cloth and it still looks great, so that would be an option if it gets a lot,of,use.

Better idea buy an inexpensive leather gun holster. Hang one close to each sewing machine. Your scissors will not wear a hole in it and it will last your lifetime.

Sewers and crafters alike can appreciate having a neck hung scissors sheath to keep their small sized crafting scissors nearby. The .pdf pattern is free and the tutorial step-by-step very clear. I might make a same fabric lanyard to use to hang the sheath around the neck for extra comfort.
