What a beautiful idea! Did you put the black trim on the outside over the spines? or was it purchased that way? Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Marooka! The trim is stitched onto the outside of the umbrella with the beads hanging over the edge. I machine stitched in between the ribs but handstitched over the spines.
