Oval DIY Pot Holders
The best pot holder sewing patterns are the pieces that are uniquely shaped and designed for a special purpose. These Oval DIY Pot Holders were designed with hot sauce and pan lids in mind. These lids are so large that it can often take a few potholders to hold them. If you create a handful of these ingenious sewn pot holders, however, hot lid worries will be a thing of the past. They'd make great gifts, as well

Oval-shaped pot lid covers are wonderful to use when attempting to lift a hot glass lid from a steaming pot. Often a traditional square shape potholder obscures the whole pot contents but these oval ones are perfect. Easy to sew from a few fabric scraps using a quilt-as-you-go method as the tutorial explains.

Great idea here! Small pot holders to deal with a specific problem-hot pot or pan lids. These cute little "quilts" would be easy and quick to create, using up your scraps. I think this would be a great way to learn to sew for a newbie as well as a quick and easy project for someone with sewing skills already honed. The holders would make a nice gift for someone too.
