The free pattern included involves straight lines and no curves making good practice for beginners to pin and cut a pattern. Sewing construction also involves only straight line construction as well. Be creative with this pattern by changing its size, adding a variety of pockets, using a variety of fabrics, and embroidering names, design, and phrases. You only need 1½ yards of fabric, so for 5$ a yard you could have a backpack for 7 bucks! Better yet, why not recycle some old clothes?"
