I spent one month working every night on a cross-stitch/sewing project meant for a gift. I found the instructions in a magazine - the title of the project was "Try This Simple Week-end Project" Needless to say, the project was much more work than I anticipated but I stuck with it and it turned out beautifully!

I made a Latte quilt back in the day and have over 200 hours of embroider in it. All done in satin.

I am sort of ashamed to admit that I have 2 different embroidery projects that I started in 1968 or 1969 that I haven't finished. A dresser scarf needs just 2 butterflies outlined, and a wreath of satin stitched flowers on a sheer table cloth. I had/have no deadline so they are laid aside for "sometime when I get caught up on other things". --If she who has items in the "in-basket" will not die until they are finished, I'll be immortal. I have spent months on a family quilt as you go quilt for my mom. I had simple coloring book patterns many years ago as patches for family members. We embroidered these and I had the family members sign on a white sheet of material. These were embroidered too. Lovely momento.

I guess the longest would have to be my 1920's Farmers Wife Quilt. I made 145 different blocks. It took me 6 weeks to complete the blocks and 6 1/2 months to quilt by hand.
