I really like this pretty bag AND I finally know what a fat quarter is, yay!! In South Africa a 1/4 yard (well actually we use metres) is sold as 9" (or 25cm) by the width of the fabric. Anyway Google has helped so now I know, haha! The local school has a craft day market coming up and I am going to make some of these to donate to the market.

Oh my! What a cute little tote! I'm very thankful that the tutorial is written step by step because I don't sew often and I'm sure that will come in handy. It's great that you can use the different patterned fabrics together. I've been trying to decide whether to purchase a self healing cutting mat and this just did it for me. It'll make projects like this a breeze. We have our county fair coming up and I think this just might be an entry for me this year!

I made this cute little bag with the fabrics pictured below. I had a little trouble because I cut my fabric wrong, but I was able to save it. I was not crazy about the fabric yoyo thing and so I tried an arrangement of buttons, but just couldn't make it look right. I definitely thin it needs something. Does anyone one have other ideas for embellishing the front of this bag? Just need a little inspiration.

This has been my go-to tote bag this summer. The best part is, it didn't take long to make at all! You could make this tote in different styles for different times of the year, too.

fre and simple bag

lovely bag to make. can use all different designed cloth also scrap. waiting to make one.

This is such a neat tote bag! And it uses up my scraps! I can't wait to make this and I'm just going to go ahead and cut up all of my scraps into fat quarters while I'm at it, so I'm all set to go for my second bag! I KNOW I'll want to make a bunch of these, and my family is going to ask me to make them for them! I just might have to buy remnants! LOL

I love the mix of patterns on this bag. Sign up for our free newsletter to see this featured next week along with other addictive bags.

I would like to save this pattern n my Word document for viewing or printing at a later date. I am unable to save or copy. Please advise. Thank you

You could copy and paste into a Word document. However, because it's a very nice detailed tutorial, you would have to do it in sections. I wouldn't print it out because of all the pictures, but you could certainly save it on your computer. I wouldn't leave out the pictures and print just the directions, because the pictures are very important and you might need them later. I bet it will be worth copying and pasting this into Word to save, because once you make one, you'll want to make more! Friends and family will ask you to make them one, too! )

I am also getting an error message
